ELAD STROHMAYER

Elad Strohmayer, the Consul General of Israel to the Midwest based in Chicago, is a seasoned diplomat with 16 years in the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Previously, he directed the Congressional Affairs Department in Jerusalem. His diplomatic experience includes serving as the spokesperson for the Israeli Embassy in Washington, D.C., Deputy Consul General in Philadelphia, and Deputy Ambassador in Luanda, Angola. Before entering the Foreign Service, he worked for the Jewish Agency. A native of Bat-Yam, Israel, he holds a BA and an MA, cum laude, in International Relations from the Hebrew University and is married to Oren Ben-Yosef.

LUAI AHMED

Luai Ahmed is a Yemeni journalist, commentator, and digital content creator born and raised in Sana’a, Yemen. A former columnist for the Swedish newspaper Bulletin, Luai has written extensively on integration, migration, and Islamist extremism. He is now widely known for his outspoken opposition to antisemitism, radical Islam, and terrorist organizations; his public support of Israel; and his efforts to challenge misinformation about Jews and the Middle East. In 2024, he became a host for Builders of the Middle East, an online platform dedicated to combating extremism, antisemitism, and online hate while promoting truth, accountability, and cross-cultural dialogue.
